Fondante
by Clara Pasteau
Fondante was designed by Clara Pasteau with a hand-made pastry bag, inspired by the letters found on birthday cakes. Its curves are awkward, shaky, irregular, dripping and reveal the gesture of a beginner handling new tools. It was first applied as drop caps for the layout of an interview with a pastry chief from Lyon, Romain Guy. This interview highlighted the close links between the pastry chief’s practice and the one of the graphic designer, as to the use of tools, the choice of colors, the way to produce, to conceive, the tricks to seduce the eye. Fondante is finally born thanks to this delicious encounter, that of another exciting practice.
